The timing and venue of the regional 'preparatory committee' meeting is being determined in partnership with the UN Regional Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, UNEP Regional office in Latin America, and the Secretariat of the World Summit. New developments  will be provided on this site or by contacting  the above organizations.    Regional Meetings:

   The Regional PrepCom for Latin America and the Caribbean will be held in Rio de Janeiro,    Brazil, from 23 - 24 October 2001, following the 13th meeting of the Forum of Ministers of the Environment.
