Fourth Summit Preparatory Committee (PREPCOM 4)

PrepCom 4 will be a ministerial level meeting to be held in Indonesia from 27 May - 7 June 2002

This meeting will draw upon the agreed text from the previous PrepCom to prepare a concise and focused document that will aim to:

  • emphasize the need for a global partnership to achieve the objectives of sustainable development,
  • reconfirm the need for an integrated and strategically focused approach to the implementation of Agenda 21, and
  • address the main challenges and opportunities faced by the international community in this regard.
Prepcom 4 will include a 2 - day multi-stakeholder dialogue segment. The outcome of PrepCom 4 will be submitted for further consideration and adoption at the 2002 Summit meeting.

In their capacity as the host, the Indonesian Government has set up a dedicated website for the logistical arrangements and preparations for PrepCom 4.
