Social Feasibility of Shrimp Sector : Seeking People’s Response

The key stakeholders of the shrimp
sector including shrimp farmers, fry collectors, shrimp traders,
Gher workers, women and community leaders expressed their concerns
about shrimp cultivation in the coastal region of the country. They
discussed both the positive and negative aspects of this growing
sector at a stakeholder workshop held in Khulna on 28 April, 2001,
organized by the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS).
